The Samsonville Funhouse is a vibrant, one-of-a-kind project we designed to reflect the playful personality of its owners. Set on a wooded property in the Catskills, the home explores what residential architecture can be when it’s allowed to be bold, expressive, and a little unexpected.
From asymmetrical rooflines to expressive color choices and whimsical interior moments, the design embraces creativity at every turn. The layout encourages flow and connection, anchored by a large central living space with smaller nooks woven throughout for quiet retreat and reflection.
Custom features—including a rock climbing wall, basketball hoop, and an upper-level loft—demonstrate how architecture can be both functional and fun. Generous windows frame the surrounding trees, bringing nature into every room and softening the contrast of the more expressive interior elements.
